Firstly, a very big thankyou to those parents who have donated items from our ‘Playground Wishlist’ or who have indicated that they can help with playground plans in the Easter holidays.

Last week we took delivery of a huge stack of pallets which have some creative plans for (thank you Mr Watkins for transporting them from Hereford back to school!). With Mr Watkins help we also managed to fill the two tractor tyres with manure and compost ready for planting as well as re-shape the conifer hedge so that the children can use the arches creatively as ‘dens’ and as part of their playground games.

We have also purchased sand and slabs to form the base of a playhouse kindly donated by Mr & Mrs Dean. The building of this base has already begun and erection of the playhouse will form the main works during Easter. The delivery of materials via roadside crane was a source of fascination last Monday – for the children and staff alike.

The children in Class 3 have been learning how to write letters and as part of their work have written to local companies with their ‘playground wish list’. Companies include B&Q, Asda, JMart, Pengethley Garden Centre and the Ross Garden Store.

We have also purchased some camouflage tarpaulins for the proposed den building area and some new storage for the playtime games that are currently stored in the playground shed.  This will free up the shed for its transformation into a play ‘café.
