In maths, children have been developing and practicing their mental methods for subtraction.  They have used Tara activities to apply these skills. Pupils will move on to learning written methods for addition next week.

In English, children have started to learn and recall the class story for this half term ‘The Magic Brush’.  We have included actions to our re – telling and identified different word classes in the text (nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs).  Pupils will move on to creating their own story map for this tale.

In science, pupils have identified the various stages of a plant’s life cycle. They will continue to look at the conditions required for growth (through a cress experiment) and identify the function of different parts of a flowering plant.

In PSHE, children have discussed their exercise diaries that they recorded over half term.

In Spanish, children have learnt new vocabulary for animals and pets.
