This term class 2’s topic is the Egyptians and to support the children with their learning of this, a class trip has been arranged to The Egypt Centre at Swansea University on Friday 17th March 2017.  Pupils will have the opportunity to spend a whole day visiting the museum and looking at the extensive artefacts on view, while attending five exciting workshops on Egyptian costume and music, Egyptian materials, mummification, gods and goddesses and animals of ancient Egypt.

Pupils will need to be in school for 8:10am, wearing school uniform on Friday 17th March so the minibus can leave at 8:15am prompt.  We will then arrive at The Egypt Centre for a 10:15am start and finish at 2:15pm, before setting back to school.  We aim to be back at school between 4:00 – 4:15pm.

Children will need a waterproof/warm coat (although all exhibits are inside) and a packed lunch for the day, including a snack for break time and plenty of drink.  A lunch room will be provided by the museum for pupils to use. If you have ordered a hot meal please call 01989 567660 to cancel and receive a credit.  There is a gift shop on site and children can bring some money in either a purse or wallet to spend, in which they are responsible for.  I recommend an amount no more than £4 (items start at 35p).

The cost of the trip will be £6 per child and this will cover the cost of transport to and from Swansea.  The PTFA have agreed to fund the cost of the workshops.  Please sign and return the consent form to school, along with payment.
