Class 1 Bog Babies
Class 1 Bog Babies

Class 1 have been busy exploring the topic of water and have started by looking at the many different kinds of boats that are found on water.  They have created their own houseboat designs and put these together to create a model for class.

In Maths we have been concentrating on recalling our number bonds and using these to find other calculations and spotting the number facts for addition and subtraction.  In our writing the children are developing their description and have begun exploring a new book all about a very shy character who left them a note and some clues about his size, shape, colour and personality.  Over the next week we be looking in more detail how the author has written this story and develop our own descriptive writing about a setting and character.

In Science the class have looked at different types of creatures live in water and created aquariums for display in the role play area.  They have also studied the water cycle and can explain how water falls as rain, snow, sleet and hail and if it lands in a puddle will even evaporate or seep into the ground!  The children looked at how a waterworks treat water to send it back to our taps!
