In Class 1 we have been busy learning our new story ‘Kassim and the Greedy Dragon.’ The children have been creating their own story maps and are beginning to retell the story using their maps. Reception have enjoyed listening to stories with warnings and have written some posters for the characters in stories like ‘Jack and the Beanstalk.’
In science the children are exploring plants and are going to watch two different types of beans grow. They have placed them on some wet paper to see what happens first.
In art the children have looked at the artist Vincent Van Gogh and created their own impression of sunflowers using his style of brush strokes.
In maths the children have looked at positional language and ways to describe where things are. Year 1 and reception are now moving onto looking at fractions and ways to find halves and quarters.
We have moved onto looking at farms in topic and will be creating a farmers market in the role play area soon.
